Choosing a location is probably the MOST important decision of the entire wedding planning process. It sets the tone for the entire event, décor, fashion and even the food. A country farm wedding is going to be different than a wedding in an upscale venue in almost EVERY SINGLE WAY.
I ask my Brides what kind of experience do they want to have …. as well as their guests ?
Will it be casual and fun ?
Will it be a sophisticated-elegant-once-in-a-lifetime-event ?
Or, will it be something in between ?
Once the decision is made, it’s off to find the perfect venue.
This weekend we coordinated a FABULOUS wedding at Clarks Landing in Point Pleasant, NJ. I could go on and on about how amazing this venue is.
The waterfront property is stunning from daylight to evening and sunsets are incredible through panoramic windows in the ballroom.
The staff is attentive, detail oriented, and incredible to work with.
Deliciously lavish food choices are everywhere you turn and guests are happy and the dance floor, packed.
It’s a ONE-EVENT location, so the entire venue is only focused on making your day…. perfect.
If you’re getting married, give us a call.
We can help you plan your wedding or just help coordinate “THE DAY OF” your wedding.
(…….and anything in between ☺ ).
Like any great meal, there is a recipe for a fabulous wedding.
The spice and zest has to be the Bride. Her personality has to ripple through even the littlest details.
Everyone is going to have an opinion, and like fingerprints, no two opinions are generally the same. Some will say it’s too flashy and others will say it’s too plain. Too loud, not lough enough. Too salty, too bland. Too bright, too dim. Too trashy, too modest. The dress is too puffy, the dress is too fitted. The venue is too cold, the venue is too hot. Too much liquor is served, not enough liquor was served. The centerpieces were too high, the centerpieces were too low. The wedding is too early in the day, the wedding is too late at night. Sound Familiar?
However, there is one simple way to make it perfect …… the day has to be about the Bride:
- What foods does the Bride like?
- What color does she envision for her canvas?
- What music does the couple love to listen to?
- What style couture does she want to be lavished in that day?
- How formal should the ceremony and reception be?
- How many people will be invited?
- What is your favorite flower?
Once the basics are covered, the particulars can be managed more easily.
We can always tweak the details to make the GUESTS more comfortable and have more fun. In the end, the word “GUESTS” should sum it up. The very definition of the word ‘GUEST’ is “a person to whom hospitality is extended” – not to whom the day is all about!
I see Brides become absolutely C-R-A-Z-Y that her Friends won’t like the dress and her Cousins won’t like the venue and her Aunt said she won’t come if her Uncle XYZ is sitting at the table and her Mom hates flowers. Listen, accommodations for family are important. However, if a Bride is becoming physically sick and consumed with worry, then we’ve got to get things back into perspective. The cousins and Aunts and Uncles and Friends and family members can have their OWN weddings however they like. Maybe they will have a 10 million dollar budget and can have the most incredible event New Jersey has ever seen. However, your wedding is all about you and your spouse and there will never be another one exactly like it.
Remember it’s YOUR day to SHINE!
